1. A Little Bit of Sparkle
Glam, glitz, and glitter are usually a huge red carpet must and there sure were a lot of stars who elegantly pulled off a little bit of sparkle without looking gaudy or too over the top for the Oscars.
Scarlett Johanson is just one star who looked amazing on the carpet. Wearing a beautiful Oscar de la Renta silk gown with sparkly metallic detail on top, Johanson strolled the carpet alongside Colin Jost. Another star who pulled off the just a bit of glitter trend was Brie Larson. Larson wore a blush pink Celine dress, which featured a thigh high slit and a cape. The silver glitter pinstripes on the dress added an elegant but fun touch to her look.
2. Pink and Black
Blush pink and black dresses made a big appearance at this year’s Oscars. The strong contrast between the blush pink and the black gave a high fashion look, while being simple and elegant.
Gal Gadot’s Givenchy dress featured a black long sleeve sheer lace bodice and a lacy pink ball gown bottom. The stark contrasting colors of this was also seen with a couple of other stars on the carpet. Laura Dern also wore a dress with this color scheme. The Armani dress was much simpler than Gadot’s, with a spaghetti strap black top adorned with multiple tassels.
3. Pop of Color
There were a couple of stars who stood out wearing bright colors on the carpet. The bright colors were a refreshing look on the carpet which highlighted spring fashion.
Florence Pugh looked playful in a bright teal Louis Vuitton dress. The dress was tied together by a belt of the same shade as the dress. Another star which followed the bright color trend was Mindy Kaling. Kaling strolled the carpet in a rich yellow one shoulder dress. The ruching at the top complimented Kaling’s figure, while the color made her stand out on the carpet.
4. White Out
A major trend on the carpet was simple, elegant, and classic. White dresses were huge among the stars on the carpet.
Cynthia Erivo shined on the carpet, wearing a white Versace gown with silver glitter on the bodice. The slit in the leg and one strap detailing brought the dress together, giving it an elegant yet edgy look. Sandy Powell was another star who opted for a white outfit. She wore a white suit, which had autographs of many of the Hollywood stars who attended the Oscars. The outfit choice was bold and inspirational, and definitely stood out on the carpet.
5. Not the Norm
Oscar red carpets are usually the perfect place for stars to wear abstract and eye catching outfits and this years show was no different.
Kristin Wiig was one of the stars on the carpet who wore an out of the ordinary ensemble. Wiig’s red Valentino outfit was definitely one of the most eye catching looks on the carpet. The black glove pairing also added to the uniqueness of the look. Billie Elish’s white Chanel suit was a standout on the carpet. The detailing of the Chanel logos and the lace gloves were a stunning outfit, which really highlighted Eilish’s usual eclectic style.
